New South Wales residents caught up in Optus data leak will have licence costs covered

 The NSW government says Optus will reimburse licence-replacement fees for customers who have been caught up in the company's massive data breach.

Minister for Digital Government Victor Dominello confirmed Optus would "absolutely" foot the bill for customers to replace their NSW drivers licences if they have been affected by the cyber attack.

"It's a $29 replacement fee but that will then be reimbursed by Optus," he said.

"Optus will communicate with their customers on how they'll actually go about that."

E-commerce aggregator Una Brands closes $45m Series B

 E-commerce company Una Brands has today announced it has raised $45 million in a Series B funding round for future acquisitions, backed by White Star Capital and Alpha JWC Ventures.

The raise - which brings the total capital secured by Una Brands to more than $140 million - will be used to fuel further acquisitions and develop proprietary technology, building out its presence in the e-commerce space.

The highly acquisitive aggregator - based in Singapore but with co-founder Adrian Johnston based in Sydney - has brought more than 30 e-commerce brands into the fold across six countries since its founding in 2021.

Penrith struck by hail stones

State Emergency Service crews have spent the night mopping up after a severe thunderstorm dumped heavy rain and hail and caused flash flooding across the Penrith region in western Sydney early last night.

Afternoon thunderstorms swept through the metro and some coastal areas, but the city's west around Penrith was the worst hit.
